Location: London, UK (office based 3 days per week) plus remote working
Duration: 1-year fixed term. Full-time maternity leave cover from Jan 2025

Role Summary:
You will be the driving force behind Business Development (BD) across Think Beyond, enabling our growth and supporting our ambition to leverage powerful platforms for positive change.
You will lead our overall approach to the market, from strategy through to identification of opportunities and securing of new projects and client. You will lead on our corporate communications, helping to shout about the incredible work we do with our clients. You’ll also create the operational set-up needed to support a high-functioning BD department and will line manage BD consultants/associates across the market offices.
While the focus will predominantly be on the UK, you will work closely with our global offices in the US and Europe, ensuring we have an approach that effectively supports our global offering. This is an exciting time to head up the global BD function, influence the way we work across BD borders, and support our people to deliver on our targets and growth areas.
You will:
Strategy
- Have an oversight of Business Development (BD) strategy, planning, and implementation to hit our growth target across three regions (US, Europe, and UK)
- Manage the in-market BD team members to successfully deliver the BD plans
- Prospect and pitch/propose development
- Work with the wider team on opportunities for increasing revenue from existing clients, driving strategic projects and new market exploration
Marketing and communications:
- Oversee the strategic approach and delivery of marketing and communications for Think Beyond including the co-development of the Marcomms annual plan
- Manage the Think Beyond Marcomms lead
- Represent the organisation at relevant sector events/ networking opportunities
- Bring new and creative ideas on how Marcomms can be used to engage our client base, our prospects and wider contact-base
Budget management:
- Managing the overall BD and marcomms annual budgets
- Responsible for building fee models and project budgets for new business opportunities, quality assuring the fees we are charging and adapting costings where required
- Working with Think Beyond Operations and Client Teams to knowledge share and action learnings around the performance of projects against budget/resourcing.
Operations:
- Identifying the best ways to work across the organisation to drive business development practices, embedding a business development culture across the business and motivating the wider team,
- Oversight of the CRM for BD purposes, including the input of timely and useful data and reporting and analysis to inform BD decision-making
- Input into the day-to-day running of the business, decision-making and driving culture of TB (as part of the management group)
- Overall BD team management and resourcing, and capacity building of the team
You will have:
- Experience in business development including winning new clients/ opportunities, driving revenue and successfully hitting targets
- To be a highly effective communicator, who thrives off building internal and external relationships and managing relationships
- The potential to be a strategic thinker and a doer. Someone who brings strong ideas but can also make them a reality.
- Knowledge of social impact and sustainability services
- Experience of building, inspiring and motivating teams (desirable would be across different geographies but not essential)
- The ability to develop a rapid understanding of our business, customers, competitors, market opportunities and challenges
- Experience in managing and building budgets for the department and building effective budgets for new business opportunities
